Brown Dog Acres is a small family owned and operated farm located on beautiful Sauvie Island in Portland, Oregon. We offer natural raised pork and farm fresh eggs. We are also home to Sauvie Island Sweet & Savory Food Company offering handmade cheesecakes.
Where did our name come from?
Benson is the original "Brown Dog." We named our small residential construction company "Brown Dog Construction" in 1998. Benson went to "work" daily until retiring to our Sauvie Island home in 2007. These days he is in charge of our younger chocolate lab Gunner and monitoring the property, which we coined Brown Dog Acres.
